The story behind the name
Ectelion draws its name from Ecthelion of the Fountain, a legendary elf from Tolkien's Silmarillion, known for his strength, elegance, and courage.
Ecthelion is also the name of the main tower in Minas Tirith, offering a panoramic view over Gondor.
We believe Ectelion embodies this spirit, empowering brands with bold creativity to help them see further and reach higher in generative AI search.

A logo inspired by sci-fi
The Ectelion logo was inspired by Ron Cobb’s semiotic designs created for the spaceship Nostromo in the movie Alien. These symbols were used to label different areas and functions on the ship, such as lasers, airlocks, and life support. Our logo is based on the Laser symbol, which we felt also resembled the layout of the garden and fountain in Minas Tirith.
The original sketches come from Cobb’s work.
The Ectelion logo
The logomark was inspired by the Nostromo’s semiotic design system, reinterpreted with a wider border radius, a green color, and a white background to emphasize negative space. The typeface is Vercel’s Geist, chosen for its modern aesthetic.

Ectelion's brand palette is a blend of calm, clarity, and openness. Green conveys transparency, invites growth, and highlights key elements. Dark text ensures readability.
